Wingspan c.22-27mm.This very localised species is only known in Britain from a couple of mountainous areas of the Scottish Highlands, although there are a small number of older unconfirmed records from elsewhere.
The adult moths are quite distinctive, being largely uniform whitish, and fly in June and July in grassy areas. It can be confused with 1302 Crambus perlella which occurs in similar habitats but is much commoner and more widespread.
Little is published about the early stages in Britain, but continental authors refer to the larvae feeding among the roots of grasses and herbaceous plants.
