1182 Epiblema turbidana

(Treitschke, 1835)

Wingspan 16-22 mm.

A rather local species, though occurring throughout much of mainland Britain in suitable localities where the foodplant, butterbur (Petasites hybridus) occurs.

The larvae feed internally in the roots of the foodplant, and the moth is quite sluggish and rests low down amongst the leaves.

The flight period is June and July, and the adults can be attracted to light.
