1480 Homoeosoma nebulella

Wingspan c.20-27 mm.Frequenting dry, chalky or sandy habitats, this species is distributed over much of England, northwards to Yorkshire, and in parts of Ireland.
It is similar in appearance to several Phycitodes species, but is characterised by a short dark line on the costa at about two-thirds, though this is difficult to see in the photograph.
The larvae feed on the flowers and seeds of spear thistle (Cirsium vulgare), ragwort (Senecio jacobaea), tansy (Tanacetum vulgare) and oxeye daisy (Leucanthemum vulgare).
Adult moths are on the wing generally during July.
