([Denis & Schiffermüller], 1775)

Wingspan 27 to 32mm.

This is a protected species in Britain and it is illegal to collect or disturb any of its stages. It is extremely local in its distribution and few moths are found each year.

It is bivoltine, with moths being in flight in May and June and then again in August.

The larva feeds on Barberry (Berberis).
