1945 Brussels Lace Cleorodes lichenaria

(Hufnagel, 1767)

Wingspan 31-38 mm.

Unusually for members of this family, this species feeds on lichens rather than the foliage of trees or plants.

It is fairly common in south-west England, south Wales and Ireland, but rare in other parts of England, and is locally distributed in Scotland.

Occupying mainly woodland habitats, the moths fly from June to August.
