2482 White-line Snout Schrankia taenialis

(Hübner, 1809)

Wingspan 18-24 mm.

Occurring in the southern counties of England and Wales, occupying damp, marshy habitats and sometimes moorland, this species can easily be overlooked as a 'micro'.

The adults fly mainly in July and August and can be attracted to light as well as 'sugar'.

The larval habits are virtually unknown in the wild, and the species warrants further study.
