(Heyden, 1848)

[Synonyms: Telephila schmidtiellus]
Wingspan c. 16mm.

A scarce and local species, occurring on chalk downs or other calcareous soil, and found in the southern counties of England.

The distinctively-marked larva feeds on marjoram (Origanum vulgare), rolling or folding a leaf and concealed within.

The ochreous adult moths have two small black dots on the forewing, and fly in July and August.
