Agonopterix kuznetzovi - Distribution map

Please note that the NBN Gateway map service has been terminated as of 1 April 2017.

As soon as a replacement map service is available, distribution maps will hopefully appear here again.

In the meantime, you can get some idea of distribution from the NBN Atlas website.

Agonopterix kuznetzovi

Lvovsky, 1983

Wingspan c.15-20mm.

A scarce and local species, occurring only in a few coastal localities in Cornwall. The first record was of one found in 1949 but it was only identified when further specimens were found nearby in the early 1980s.

Adult moths fly between July and October, then hibernate and can be found again in the spring.

The larva feeds on saw-wort, initially mining the leaf and later feeding on the upper cuticle, causing windows in the leaf.
