Argyresthia ivella

Wingspan c. 11mm.

A fairly local species, but well distributed throughout much of England and Wales, frequenting old orchards and areas where apple trees grow.

The adult moth flies in July and August and can be attracted to light.

The larvae feed in a shoot of apple (Malus) or hazel (Corylus).
