Pale-shouldered Cloud Chloantha hyperici

Wingspan 30-40 mm.

This noctuid is a rare visitor to Britain, with the first record being from Dungeness, Kent in August 1996. In southern Europe it is treble-brooded, flying from April to October. In northern Europe the moth is represented by the bluish-grey subspecies svendseni, which flies from June to August.

The larvae of this moth feed from May to November on St. John's-wort, although have not been found in Britain in the larval stage.
