Tree-lichen Beauty Cryphia algae

Wingspan 24-30 mm.

A migrant species, which has recently begun to appear on the south coast, with a number of records since 1991, although prior to that, the previous record was in the 19th century.

The most frequent occurrences are in August, with occasional multiples of two and three.

The species occurs in southern Europe, where the larvae feed on lichens growing on trees.
