Dingy Mocha Cyclophora pendularia

(Clerck, 1759)


Wingspan 26-29 mm.

A scarce and local species, occurring on damp heathland in parts of southern England, mainly in Dorset, Hampshire and Wiltshire.

The larvae feed on the foliage of willow (Salix spp).

Having two generations during the year, the moths are active in May and June, and again in July and August.
