Cydia fagiglandana

(Zeller, 1841)

Wingspan 13-19 mm.

Similar to C. splendana, but with rather less contrast between light and dark.

The species is fairly common in much of England and Wales, and also occurs in southern Scotland and Ireland.

Flying in June and July, the preferred habitat is beech (Fagus) woodland, where the larvae feed internally on the beech nuts.
