([Denis & Schiffermüller], 1775)

Wingspan 21-24 mm.

A fairly distinctive species with its chestnut-brown ground colour and darker streaking along the wing venations, its distribution covers England, southern Scotland and Ireland, and it is generally common.

The adults overwinter, being on the wing from September through to April.
