Dolicharthria punctalis

([Denis & Schiffermüller], 1775)

Wingspan 22-27 mm.

This rather scarce species occurs on the south-west coasts of England and Wales and in the Channel Islands.

The adult is noticeably long-legged and flies from July to August, from dusk onwards, when it can be attracted to light.

The larvae feed on a variety of dead and decaying plant matter.
