Eriopsela quadrana - Distribution map

Please note that the NBN Gateway map service has been terminated as of 1 April 2017.

As soon as a replacement map service is available, distribution maps will hopefully appear here again.

In the meantime, you can get some idea of distribution from the NBN Atlas website.

Eriopsela quadrana

(Hübner, [1813])

Wingspan c. 15mm.

This species is rather localised in Britain, having a scattered distribution in England, and occupying chalky or limestone districts, or other dry grassy habitats where the foodplant grows.

The larva feeds on goldenrod (Solidago virgaurea), folding leaves upwards and feeding within.

The moths fly in May and June and appear in the late afternoon, later coming to light.
