Loxostege sticticalis

(Linnaeus, 1761)

Wingspan 24-29 mm.

Although suspected as a resident in the Breckland district of East Anglia, this is now primarily known as a migrant species.

In recent years, the frequency and number of arrivals has increased, and records have occurred northwards to Shetland, typically arriving in late summer or early autumn.

The larval foodplants are mugwort (Artemisia vulgaris) and field wormwood (A. campestris).
