Telechrysis tripuncta - Distribution map

Please note that the NBN Gateway map service has been terminated as of 1 April 2017.

As soon as a replacement map service is available, distribution maps will hopefully appear here again.

In the meantime, you can get some idea of distribution from the NBN Atlas website.

Telechrysis tripuncta

(Haworth, 1828)

Wingspan c. 12mm.

Occurring in southern England and in parts of north-west England and Wales, this distinctive species is however fairly local, occupying woodland habitats.

The feeding habits are relatively unknown, but it is believed to feed in dead or rotting wood.

Adult moths are on the wing in May and June, being rather crepuscular in nature.
