Welsh Wave Venusia cambrica

Curtis, 1839

Wingspan 27-30 mm.

Resident in the northern part of England and Wales as well as Scotland and Ireland, this moth also occurs in the south-west of England.

It is mainly a species of hilly localities, and the adult moths, which fly in July and August, can be found resting on tree-trunks during the day.

The caterpillar is greenish marked with brown blotches and feeds on the leaves of rowan (Sorbus aucuparia).
