Satin Stowaway Antichloris viridis

Druce, 1884

This Neotropical species has been observed a number of times in Britain, as a result of being accidentally imported in fruit consignments.

The example shown was found in a Sainsbury's foodstore in Northumberland, having arrived in a box of bananas from Colombia.

The species, also known as the Banana moth, can be a pest of the fruit in its native land.
