Bryotropha dryadella
Scarce Moss-moth

Wingspan c. 11mm.

This rather local species has only relatively recently been fully identified as a British species, when museum specimens previously thought to be B. basaltinella were dissected and found to be B. dryadella.

Since then it has been found in a number of localities in the southern coastal regions, and details of the early stages are in press (R. J. Heckford).

The adults fly between May and August and can be taken at light.
