Marbled Grass-moth

Wingspan 17-18 mm.

This crambid is a rare visitor to Britain, although it may possibly be a resident. Care must be taken as the moth could be overlooked as a small, dark Catoptria falsella.

The larvae feed in spring upon mosses on old apple (Malus), plum (Prunus) and poplar (Populus) trees.

The moth is widespread on adjacent parts of the continent. It flies in July and August and is attracted to light.
