Choreutis nemorana

This species is widespread in the Mediterranean and North Africa.

It was recorded in Belgium in 2009 and the first for Britain was in 2014 when it was reared from Ficus carica (Fig) in London. Since then it has spread to East Anglia, Kent and the Isle of Wight.

The larvae make a spinning on the upperside of a Ficus leaf and pupate inside a white tough cocoon within a leaf-edge fold.

There are two generations with adults flying in July and again in the autumn. The second generation over-winter.
