Epagoge grotiana

Wingspan c. 15 mm.

Widely distributed over much of the British Isles and occupying deciduous woodland, this species becomes scarcer further north.

The larvae feed on the leaves of various trees and shrubs including oak (Quercus), hawthorn (Crataegus) and Rubus.

The adult moth is quite distinctive and flies during June and July, especially around dawn and at dusk.
