Black Mountain Pearl Metaxmeste phrygialis

Wingspan c.15 mm.

This alpine species is on the British list solely on the basis of a single doubtful record from the Scottish Highlands in the mid 19th Century.

Abroad, it occurs commonly at high altitude in the Alps, and flies by day from June to August.
