Wingspan 22-26 mm

A local species, found in very small numbers around the south Midlands, and probably declining.

The adults fly between June and September, and are most often encountered resting on walls inside barns and other farm buildings, but they can be attracted to light.

The early life history is not well documented, but the larvae, rather like other related species, are believed to feed on barley, hay and other stored cereals.
