Streaked Plusia Vittaplusia vittata

(Wallengren, 1856)

To date, there is just a single record of this species in Britain. A worn specimen was taken at light at Rye Harbour, East Sussex, on 31 July 1995. This was subsequently identified and constituted the first record for both Britain and Europe.

Natively it occurs in Africa and the Middle East, where it is described as widespread.
